Jack Hannan was a God to me! I vividly remember the first time I ever met him... It was my first time skiing at Jackson Hole, (1996) during my innaugural big mtn xtreme comp. I was 18, and felt way out of my league. I was totally unprepared for the emotional side effects of of this type of intense competition, and my results were terrible... when it was over I felt so humbled. I remember hearing this guy talking about skiing the gnar at the after party, his stoke was genuine and his confidence was intimidating. I remember thinking to myself, that guy is the real deal - no fear! I wanted to be like him, Burly skiing down the nastiest lines and laughing it all off at the end of the day. Superhero type guy. Of course it was Jack Hannan and I was in total admiration of his strength and style. Over the following years we developed a close friendship and did many more competitions. He got really good, and like Windle said, You could always expect him to send the toughest lines any venue could offer. He was such an amazing guy because not only was he confident at performing at such an incredible level, but when he was off skis he was the most humblest, chillest, down to earth guy you could ever hope to meet. A truley inspirational guy. He was just wicked solid all the way around. Supreme radness embodied in a very unassuming package. That is Jacks legacy to me. I feel honored and enlightend to have known him as a skiier, and friend. A real awesome guy you could believe in, the world needs more people like Jack, so get out there and try harder, do more, and never forget the example he lived: Be a king - but dont ever let it go to your head!!! Thanks Jack Hannan, we love you forever. I'll miss you very much - your skiing brother, Tierney

I used to compete agaist Jack and he was one of the guys that you knew was going to throw down. Always choosing a solid line and prepared to take huge air to make sure his line was noticed. Yet of his skis he was one of the humblest and nicest guys you could wish to come across and a pleasure to know and compete against. Always a ripper. Cheers for the inspiration.

Jack and I used to huck some pretty big cliffs together. We were competing on the big mountain tour at the same time and touring around together alot, drinking together, skiing together, competing against eachother and generally having a great time and creating some of the better experiences and memories that I have had to date. He used to get annoyed with me during comps when I would egg him on to go for the biggest cliff in his line and he would say to me "Jared, I'm going to take it more conservative than that and I'll score way better than you". Then he would go out and huck the huge cliff anyway, stomp it and still get a great score. He was an awesome skier. He was an awesome guy. I will miss his smile and his frienship tremendously, thanks for being my friend Jack.

Although I never knew Jack personally, I knew him through the same love and passion we all deeply share for our sport; and his images on the big screen. His persona was one that shown through being a down to earth person that could still get it done in the mtns in large fashion. Jack is a huge lost to our team, sport and most importantly family and friends.
